EPP - English Personal Program Bridging Gaps

Back

The following are diagnostic tools to be used to evaluate your learners‘ beginning literacy skills and to identify specific areas of strength and challenge. The goal is to prepare a study plan for students in the small group based on real-time information about what they can do.

Tool 1 is to be administered in the full class. If you already have learning groups or tracks you may want to use the tool in the classes where there are students who tend to have more challenges learning English successfully. Then following the administration in the class, marking the tests, organizing the data on the Excel file and identifying the student's strengths and challenges, then identify the students with

a. Generally lower grades
and ,or
b. Demonstrate gaps between or among skills
and ,or
c. You know that a specific student's scores don't match your knowledge of their skills
Then test those students individually with tool number 2 in order to pinpoint specific reasons for challenge to help plan the individual English Personal Program. Here are the two tools:

evaluation test
  1. The evaluation test for Hebrew speakers and for Arabic speakers
2

2. The second tool should take a maximum of 20 minutes per student. It should be administered individually, in a low-stress, supportive, and encouraging environment.
