This is a comprehensive geographical content unit about the North and South Poles. Pupils acquire general geographical knowledge and also specific knowledge of this topic and then are required to use their knowledge to make choices and decisions throughout the lessons. The pupils research two areas that they are not familiar with, the North and South Poles.

The unit exposes the pupils to historical and cultural sites called Ancient Wonders. The unit provides an overview of five Ancient Wonders, their historical background, geographical location and the most interesting facts about them. Through this exposure, pupils will practice their language skills.
